He checked out in good health, and she is not concerned about his weight. Thank God, cuz I worry about it a lot. He's officially 38 pounds, and 3 feet 8 inches. Yup. Off the scale for height and at about the 30th percentile for weight. Tall and skinny. Heaven only knows how that happened with these parents of his! But she says not to worry, so I'll try not to. I just wish he'd eat more!
He also got a booster shot, for which he was super brave. Just a little wince. So he got a bowl of tiger tail ice cream when we got home for a congratulatory treat. (The President's Choice stuff - if you haven't tried their ice cream parlour line, you totally should!)
But when the doctor asked me if we had any concerns to bring up, I talked about behavioural concerns again. He's probably fine, but does seem a bit "behind" on some social skills. For instance, he has zero filter still - every thought translates directly to speech. And he has extremely limited impulse control. Yes, he's still quite young, but he's starting JK and we don't want to overlook something that maybe we could get help with now that otherwise might negatively impact him in a classroom setting. Ugh. So, we're waiting on a referral for a behavioural assessment. I'm kind of nervous, but relieved at the same time. A professional opinion that I'm just a worrier would be great :-)
