Spring Giveaway - Rim Roller

There are a few things that for me signify that spring is finally coming to Toronto. The first plumping of the pussy willows in my backyard. The appearance of the glory of the snow along the side of Mt Pleasant Ave. The first sighting of the DVP groundhogs, south of Eglinton. And, perhaps most importantly, the coming again of Tim Horton's Rrrroll Up the Rim to Win.

It is a beloved Canadian tradition, and, although I pretty much NEVER win ANYTHING, I succumb to the hype each spring. Don't get me wrong. I consume my fair share of large-black-two-sugars throughout the year. But once RRRoll Up comes back, well I just get all excited and have to have more.

My Dad used to win constantly. Drove me nuts. Nothing big ever, but every second coffee he got was free. Or so it seemed. I think I've won maybe 2 coffees and 1 doughnut in all the years of the promotion. But I still play. I mean, they ask so nicely to "Please Play Again." How could I refuse? (How Canadian, eh?)

Last year around this time, the Hubs received a special gift Which I promptly purloined. IT'S A RIM ROLLER!!!

How cool is that? If you play these coffee games, you know how annoying it is to get that rim rolled up. Thumbs never seem to get the traction needed. Teeth do the job, but it's so un-lady-like. This Rim Roller has these great little blades inside that make a perfect cut and pull the rim up for you. Plus, it doubles as a key chain, so it's convenient to keep close by at all times.  All you do is push the Roller down, then pull up.

The Roller is perhaps a little narrower than I might like, but it does let you see if you've won, or what the prize is. (Yeah, like that would ever happen for me. Maybe for you though.) And, it is shaped like a coffee cup, so the correct dimensions have to be there. (You got that, right? Cuz, like, I didn't. Not at first. I'm quick like that.)

Anyhoo. I love these little things so much, that I decided I wanted a new one, in a pretty colour. You can buy them directly from the source, or at Zellers, Princess Auto, or Lee Valley Tools. I decided to buy the multi-colour 5-pack (just $12.45 + tax & shipping).

I'm keeping the green one for myself. But I thought it would be fun to share my love for these by giving two away, one each to two lucky readers. Yes, this is a VERY small giveaway, but it is what it is. I haven't received any sponsorship or compensation or freebies for this post (but, heck, if or want to send something my way now, you know, as a thank you to a devoted customer, well that would be cool.)
