#EqualCanada - the search continues ... #cbias

I love Saturday. It is my favourite day of the week. Saturday for me is for family time. It's when we plan our outings and do special activities with the kids. And Saturday night has been designated Family Movie Night at our house. We make sure to make the time to all sit down together after a nice dinner and watch a movie with popcorn. So much fun!

This weekend we had a super busy and full Saturday, that started with just me and Little Boo. He desperately needed a haircut, and I decided it would be a good time to have a Mommy-Baby date. So, we went for an early appointment (Anna's Unisex & Kids in Scarborough - she's great!!), to make time for breakfast before music lessons.
Sitting patiently & looking better already
Really getting out of control

Once Anna got him all fixed up, Little Boo and I headed to McDonald's for our special bonding breakfast time.
He had his usual hotcakes, but for him the most important part was the Bakugan toy. We came in the door, and he immediately ran to the Happy Meal toy display, eyes like saucers. The gal serving us had just grabbed a random toy for him, but then saw how excited he was and turned back to the bin to get one of each toy they had so he could choose for himself. I thought that was so sweet! She dug around in there for a good couple of minutes to make sure she didn't miss an option. Great service!

For me, I love the Bacon & Egg McMuffin (mmm bacon), but the coffee is definitely the most important part of this morning meal. McDonald's McCafe is surprisingly good coffee, and a huge improvement over their earlier coffee. I cannot function in the morning without my coffee.

No sweeteners were offered at the condiment counter, just from the staff.
I usually take my coffee black, one sugar, but I did ask if they were offering Equal artificial sweetener as an option. The cashier said no, and offered another brand, which I declined. She seemed a little surprised that the choice of artificial sweetener mattered. I explained they all taste different. People I know will actually carry their favourite sweetener with them rather than use an available substitute when dining out. This McDonald's wasn't all that busy, so I was able to talk to her a bit about the idea of including options, and I think she learned something about sweeteners. She said she would pass along my comments to the store manager. I hope they do listen and start to provide more variety and include Equal as an option for those customers who prefer it. I think that is just good customer service.

After breakfast, we went to music lessons, then for a car wash (he loves the car wash!), before heading home for an afternoon of raking and jumping in the leaves.  This particular Saturday ended with a trip to Grandma's for dinner, so no family movie. But it was a fabulous family-fun-filled day!
