Sobeys Sensations for the Holidays - Giveaway

Here comes the holiday season, and we are heading full-throttle into the high point of the year's entertaining and visiting schedule. You have probably already been to a Christmas party or two. Many more are sure to come between now and New Year's Eve. Personally, I love to entertain, and little makes me happier than having a houseful of family and friends eating and chatting and just enjoying relaxed time together.

But what about my relaxing? Hosting can be super stressful and the prep can be exhausting. I'm no Martha (though I think I'd like to be), and with my hectic schedule of work and lessons and general parenting "stuff" sometimes it's hard to imagine preparing for guests. I need some short-cuts to getting yummy and great looking refreshments on the sideboard.

Enter Sobeys Sensations by Compliments!

Great selection of sweets
The Sensations line has a large variety of sweet and savoury options for your holiday entertaining. Thai Golden Purses, filled with shrimp and veggies are sure to impress. As will the Goat Brie Cheese served with the Water Cracker Assortment. Sensations has a number of goat cheese options, including the festive Cranberry-Cinnamon Goat Cheese and Fig-Topped Goat Cheese. (Can you tell I love goat cheese?)  As well as planning your scheduled entertaining with these appie options, I find it's smart to have frozen appetizers and nice cheeses and sweets on hand - just in case. You can haul these prepared items out and have them quickly on the table for any unexpected, but welcome, drop-in visitors.  When you're planning ahead, check out the latest, holiday edition of Sobeys' Inspired magazine. I see a yummy looking recipe there for Baked Brie with Spiced Nuts & Apricot Jam.

Oh! Wait! Don't forget the sweet tooth in the crowd. Sensations Mini Chocolate Enrobed Cheesecakes come boxed in two separately-sealed packs of 6 bite-sized treats, so you can sneak just one pack out for a little treat, or place out the dozen for company. They need just 25-30 minutes in the fridge to defrost before serving. No one would make any claims for these as a diet-friendly treat, but boy are they yummy. The nutrition facts indicate that a serving size of three has 240 calories and 25% of the daily allotment of fat. But this is the holidays and we are allowed our indulgences. Everything in moderation I say! These mini-cheesecakes are decadently creamy and light on the tongue. This is a great sweet treat for your guests, or even as a dessert for family dinner. Little Boo is now officially obsessed.
