First off, don't worry. I've never been good at April Fool's pranks. I just don't have it in me. I'm a terrible liar.
But I do enjoy the pranks of others.
Some of the best are highlighted at the Museum of Hoaxes. My favourite is for sure the Swiss Spaghetti Harvest.
Although I do remember many years ago, CBC radio in St. John's orchestrated a really well done prank. They spent the morning broadcasting ongoing updates about a diver in St. John's harbour and how they believed they had found Sir Humphrey Gilbert's sunken ship. It was really exciting, and it was the CBC for gosh sakes! So of course I believed them. Took me forever to realise it was April 1 and I was the fool tied to her radio for updates.
Well, Little Boo thinks April Fool's is a great idea. He was so excited this morning when he realised that the day had arrived.
LB: "Mommy! There's a tarantula behind you!"
Me (dutifully looking over my shoulder): "Eeep!!!"
3 seconds later
Me: (I am really good at this, did a good jump in my seat and everything): "Oh no! Eep!"
Not sure what I have to look forward to as he gets older and more creative. I may be in trouble!!!
What about you? Did you pull any pranks today? Were you on the receiving end of any? I have to say that I take anything I hear on April 1 with about a pound of salt. But then again, I am the suspicious type.
I'll leave you with a link to one of my faves from 2012, courtesy of Mabel's Labels. I always look forward to see what they have up their sleeve. Enjoy!
