This weekend marked one of my favourite events of the year - the changeover to spring and summer clothes!! My closet is now emptied of sweaters and filled with pretty skirts and sleeveless blouses. Yay!
I took advantage of the changeover to whittle down my collection of too small, too damaged, or too "just not my style" clothes. Some of these had to go into the garbage (I have a problem with bleaching my tops while cleaning the bathroom), but most are in good shape for donation.
Next Saturday is the Canadian Diabetes Association's annual "Fill A Truck" event for their Clothesline program. All proceeds from donations to Clothesline go to support the work of the CDA. They will accept clothing, shoes, books, electronics, and small household items. And each Fill A Truck donation puts you into a draw for a local prize. Check out their Facebook event page for more details. I'll be bringing this batch of gently used items to my local event.
Events are taking place across the country. To find one near you, visit diabetes.ca/fillatruck.
