Ladies, tell me - how many calls do you miss because you can't find your phone in your bag when it rings? How many times have you dumped your purse in a panic, convinced you left you precious iPhone at the restaurant? (Speaking from panicked experience here.) I hate that sinking feeling in my stomach when I can't find my phone at the bottom of my purse. Well, I think I've found our solution!
Phone Fetcher is a neat little device that attaches on one end to your smart phone or MP3 player via the earplug jack, and on the other end to your purse, diaper bag, belt loop, etc., via an easy clip. When your phone rings, you simply follow the stretchy bungee cord to find it. Easy-peasy. It is not recommended that you use the cord to pull your phone out of your bag, although I admit I have done it in a rush. I think the possibility would be there to potentially either do some damage to your earplug jack or to just pull the cord out altogether if your phone is buried, leaving the phone behind. Kind of defeats the purpose.
Of course this is not just about finding your phone. The cord is stretchy enough that you can make a call, text, tweet, or whatever while your device is still tethered to your bag or belt. If it's attached, you can't accidentally leave it on the table/bar/checkout counter, right?
When I initially went to insert the little black plastic plug into my earplug jack, I admit I was a little nervous. Would it ruin the jack? Well, no. I've been using the Phone Fetcher for 2 weeks now and the jack is still fine and the sound through my earbuds is as good as ever. Whew!
I reviewed the original Bungee Sport model. I love the stretchiness of the cord, and the variety of colours available. It is a casual style, with a larger clip - super easy to open, but also very secure. The one thing I didn't like so much was the large logo on the clip, but that's just aesthetics. This tool has been a sanity saver!
Hot off the press! Phone Fetcher has introduced a Metallic model, with a pretty chain and smaller metal clip. This would be great for an evening look as it is dressier and more like jewellery.
You can purchase the Phone Fetcher online for $9.99 USD (sport) or $14.99 USD (metallic).
Or! One lucky reader of Raising My Boys will win their own original Bungee Sport Phone Fetcher! Entry is via the Rafflecopter widget below. Contest is open to both Canadian and US residents and closes at midnight EDT, May 20, 2012.
