Do you remember Little Boo's first pet of his own? Well, sadly, Adam has gone on to the big fish tank in the sky. He was with us for 4 and a half months. When I came home last week after being away 3 days, I found him floating upside down at the top of the tank.
We were worried about breaking this news to Little Boo, and he was indeed very sad when we told him. But, we didn't tell him for two days. (Trying to find the right time, I wasn't home, etc.) And you know what? He didn't notice his fish was dead.
That certainly tells me something. How often was he looking at his pet anyways??
Whatever the case, we did a proper good-bye with a ceremonial flush and both parents in attendance. Little Boo was taking a while to say good-bye and was kinda fascinated with the colour his dead fish's eye had turned. Then he announced "Adam's pretty smelly. We should flush now."
Such emotion. Brings a tear to my eye.
Needless to say, we were at the fish store this weekend and came home with Betta #2.
Bets on how long this Betta will last??
