Tide Pods - Laundry Convenience

We've been trying out a new way to do laundry this summer - using new Tide Pods from Procter and Gamble. These are small liquid packets of laundry detergent, designed to work in both regular and high efficiency washing machines, in both hot and cold water. They combine a detergent, stain fighter, and whitener, all in one multi-celled packet. And the packet itself dissolves completely in all temperatures, so there's no residue to pick out of your machine.

And best of all? One pod = one load of laundry. I've used just one pod in an extra large, extra dirty load, and still had excellent cleaning performance.  This is important to me from a cost-saving perspective. Since these are pre-measured, and one pod will clean even our largest loads, I know we are not going to be wasting detergent. No more guessing how much detergent to measure in. No more temptation to throw in a little bit more "just in case."

It may seem like a small thing, but grabbing a pod and tossing it in the machine does make doing the laundry a little easier and quicker than when you have to pour and measure.  I think these would be fabulous for anyone who uses a laundromat for their wash. No more dragging a heavy box of detergent with you, or measuring out enough for your loads. With Tide Pods you can just grab one pod per load and toss them into your laundry basket as you head out the door. Practically weightless!  Likewise, we used these on our vacation this summer. We knew we would have a stacked washer and dryer in the condo we were renting, so we brought a handful of Tide pods in a resealable bag, rather than buy detergent when we arrived. These were super convenient for travel!

Tide pods are available in a variety of package sizes, and in three scents: Spring Meadow, Ocean Mist, and Mystic Forest.

Disclosure: I received free product for review. No other compensation was provided. All opinions on this blog remain my own.
