Healthy Snacking with Wholly Guacamole and Beanitos #CANBTS

With Back to school comes back to packing lunches. Yes, I know, sore subject. I'm actually pretty lucky in this area since the Teen refuses to bring a packed lunch (so uncool), and Little Boo is in daycare at his school, where he gets fed a hot lunch every day. I really only pack lunches for myself. (Go ahead and curse me. It's ok.) But Little Boo has now requested to be allowed to eat lunch in the gym with his new best friend. I explained to him that Mommy and Daddy are paying good money to have him fed a hot lunch every day. So, we came to a compromise. Every other Monday I will pack him a lunch and he can eat with the school instead of the daycare.

I still have it easy.

But for those of you who do have to pack lunches that are safe and healthy, or those who just like to enjoy a healthy, great-tasting snack at home, I want to introduce you to two great brands - Wholly Guacamole and Beanitos.  I recently had the opportunity to taste-test these new-to-me products, and I'm impressed with both the flavours and the healthy attributes.

You know I make my own guacamole, so I'm pretty particular. But this one definitely made the grade with me. I chose the Spicy variety, and it had a great kick along with a great full flavour, just the right touch of lemon. Wholly also comes in a set of three individual serving 100 calorie packs, which are perfect for including in lunch bags. Especially if you pair them with a bag of Beanitos chips.

Wholly is made with all-natural ingredients, preservative & additive free, gluten-free, non-GMO, and Kosher certified.  You can find this in your local supermarket in the refrigerated produce section.

Beanitos are a yummy and healthy alternative to regular potato or corn chips. They are corn-free, gluten-free, low glycemic, high in fibre, and a source of complete protein. Plus, they have been non-GMO certified by the Non-GMO Project. These bean chips come in four flavours: Black Bean, Chipotle BBQ (spicy!), Pinto Bean and Flax, and Cheddar Cheese.  The Pinto Bean and Flax are my personal favourite to pair with the Wholly Guacamole.

I was a little nervous about the Beanitos, whether or not I'd like them. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that the flavour is great and these do answer my cravings for crispy, salty goodness. The salt fix comes from sea salt, and the flavours have just 2% to 6% of the daily recommended sodium intake per 35g bag. But they still satisfy this salt addict.
