Family Dining at the Mandarin - Something for Everyone!

Do you have a picky eater in your family? (We do. Two actually. One is my Hubs.) Are meal times sometimes a royal pain in the you-know-where, trying to please everyone and get some nutrition into young bellies? I hate when our family meals become a struggle. Family meal time is supposed to be about being together and reconnecting. So, when we manage a meal where everyone has options they'll enjoy and consume, our family dinners are a lot more pleasurable.

One sure place we can all find something to make us happy is the Mandarin Restaurant. Mandarin is a great destination for family dining - comfortable, clean and friendly - and with its all-you-can-eat buffet there's enough variety to please all palates.

Little Boo is a terribly picky eater, and we are always trying to get him to try new things in an attempt to expand his repertoire. Buffet-style dining is perfect for this. Kids (and adults) can safely try a small taste of new dishes with no risk. Don't like it? Ok. You only took one spoonful from the buffet. No real waste, and you can just go back and choose something you do like. Easy-peasy. On our most recent visit, LB wasn't feeling very adventurous, so he had his staples - chicken balls, rice, and pizza. He also got a fancy mocktail to make him feel all grown-up.
I think the "after" picture speaks for itself - Mandarin is a hit!
With his ADHD, Little Boo finds it difficult to sit still for long periods any period of time. The Mandarin Restaurant is a great environment for him, since the buffet encourages patrons to get up and walk around, pick up second or third helpings, etc. And we have always found the staff to be very accommodating and happy to welcome children to the restaurant. We used to go to the Mandarin to celebrate my late mother-in-law's birthday each year. It's a great spot that pleases all the generations!

The Mandarin offers a huge variety of hot and cold Chinese and Canadian foods, including soup and salad bars, sushi, prime rib, grill tables, waffles, and an extensive dessert table. And we can't forget the make-your-own sundae bar! Little Boo loves to make his own sundae creations, and there are many options here.
Ice cream sundae and Jell-o cubes. Perfect end to the meal!
Hubs and I branched out a bit more and gorged ourselves on crab legs, sushi, spicy chicken and more. I started with a big bowl of delicious hot and sour soup, since I wasn't feeling 100%. That got me on track for the rest of the meal.
Fresh and tasty
I love being able to sample a variety of dishes. A trip to the Mandarin is never boring!

Did you know that the Mandarin Restaurant was founded as a small Á-la-carte restaurant in Brampton in 1979? They switched to the buffet-style service in 1986. The company's mission statement is "Every customer must feel welcomed as soon as they arrive. Every customer must be happy and smiling when they leave." I can say for sure that I have always felt welcomed at the Mandarin, in whichever location we've visited, so they seem to be living up to their goal!

Oh! Every Mandarin location also has take-out and delivery available. The same fresh food you will find in the restaurant, you can enjoy right at your own table. We just had our dinner delivered Wednesday night actually. It all arrived promptly, still hot and delicious. Yum!
