Did you know that April is Oral Health Month? Me neither, so I'm here to tell you about it :) Our oral health is so important, both for medical reasons, and for reasons of self-confidence. A bright, white smile filled with lovely straight teeth is a sure confidence booster. And we all know a big smile has us looking our lovely and friendliest best.
My family is diligent with our dentist visits, and with our brushing. I have to admit that we are not so diligent with our flossing, which could for sure use some work. I tend to only reach for the floss when there's something (like popcorn!) bothering me between my teeth. We have all made the switch to power toothbrushes, which I (and my hygienist and my dentist) find give a far superior clean to a manual brush. My hygienist cleanings are so much shorter than they were when I used a manual brush. Did you know that, as of 2011, 72% if Canadians were still using a manual brush? This is from Crest and Oral-B's third annual Great Canadian Smile Survey. I'm interested to see how this number might change in the fourth annual survey! I am a huge proponent of making the switch to power.
During Oral Health Month, Crest and Oral-B are teaming up to encourage Canadians to take the pledge to get a more confident smile by brushing, flossing and rinsing with Crest and Oral-B products for 30 days. And, for every pledge registered they’ll donate $1 to Dress for Success (up to $20,000), a charity that helps give others the confidence to succeed in the workplace. Crest is supporting Dress for Success in its mission to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Please visit either facebook.com/crestcanada or facebook.com/oralbcanada to make your pledge today! Your oral health and this organisation will both benefit.
A GiveawayP&G is providing an Oral-B Professional Deep Sweep Triaction 5000 prize (MSRP $110) to help one of my lucky readers make the switch and pledge a more confident smile. I've been using an earlier version of this Oral-B Professional series brush, and I love it. The Smart Guide timer communicates with the brush and provides your countdown, with stars for brushing success, and alerts if you use too much pressure. And the clean I get with this brush has really impressed both me and my dentist. It does a great job of getting rid of plaque and tartar for an excellent clean.
