Like lightning. What are the chances you'll get struck by lightning in your lifetime? Pretty low, right? Well, actually it's something like 1 in 280,000, according to the National Lightning Safety Institute, at least in the US.
And there was that time when I was only like 30 feet away from the impact point of a lightning strike on the walk outside my apartment. But I was inside. The two girls walking by at the time were not hit, but pretty shaken.
So, I guess these things do happen, but we're mostly better off not thinking about them.
And that brings me to this morning. A gorgeous, sunny, warm (hot) morning. And I took Maxi out for a walk. Not three doors down from our house, I felt something wet hit my head and arm.
"How is it raining with this gorgeous clear sky?" I thought to myself. As I glanced over at my arm. And I saw it. The unmistakable drippings of wet bird poo.
I grabbed an empty dog poo bag and tried my best to scrape it off, but then I remembered my hair.
Surprisingly, I didn't throw up. It was however, the shortest walk that dog ever experienced. Followed real quick by the longest and hottest shower I ever experienced.
43 years I managed to avoid the disgusting bird poop on the head thing. 43 years. Dare I hope this means I won't have to face it again?
