For me, camping was a huge part of my childhood. I grew up camping in trailers for the most part. We had relatively comfy beds and either cooked on a cook top inside, or on a portable stove outside. We boated and fished and swam. As a teen, I camped in tents, and we often cooked over a campfire. Way more challenging! These days we celebrate Canada Day with an annual camping trip to a friend's cottage. It is kind of the best of both worlds, as we sleep in tents, but have access to the cottage for the washroom and kitchen. Plus there's a big BBQ, which is always put to good use.
Whether on your backyard deck, in a nearby campground, or off in the wilderness at the side of a lake, nothing tastes quite so good as a meal cooked and eaten in the great outdoors. During the warmer months I spend as little time as possible in the kitchen, and many meals are prepared on our natural gas grill. (Tonight it's pizza!) Our grill is big and awesome and we use it year round. What we don't have, but I'm hoping to get this summer, is a portable grill for cooking on the go. I'd love to be able to bring along a lightweight, but powerful grill to whip up a meal wherever we might be (with local bylaws taken into consideration of course).
To help one of my Canadian readers grill on the go, Canadian Tire is providing a Cadac Safari Chef Stove for me to give away during the Great Canadian Blog Bash event. This would be a fabulous addition to your camping gear collection.
- Multi-functional outdoor propane appliance with 5 interchangeable cooking surfaces
- Includes: lid/wok, reversible grill plate, wire grid, top and bottom deflector plates and stove plates
- Weights less than 5kg
- 7300 BTUs
I am very grateful to Canadian Tire for sponsoring this giveaway. When I sat down to think whom I would like to approach to join me in #TGCBB, it didn't take me long to decide. A Canadian institution since 1922, and my go-to source for the equipment to fuel my summer fun, Canadian Tire was an obvious choice. Camping gear, lifejackets, outdoor sports and games, bicycles, fishing gear, a garden centre, and more. They have it all. I wonder, where they ever really just tires?
Entries for this giveaway are via the Rafflecopter widget below, and will be accepted until 12:00 midnight, EDT, July 11. Giveaway is open to Canadian residents only. Best of luck!
