This past Saturday I participated in my first Habitat for Humanity build. It was a special Women's Build blitz, and we fund raised, and got up super early, and went off to spend the day in hard hats and steel-toed boots.
It was awesome, and inspiring, and wet. Very, very wet.
Unfortunately our build day had to be cut short because of all the rain and mud. It was getting super slippery, and the extension cords kept shorting out, so we were without our power tools. We hammered away for as long as we could, and we did make some headway on the beams we were assigned to build. But we all headed home after lunch.
This was my shirt at the end of the build. I'd been assigned to coil up and put away extension cords. I'm not sure I will ever get that tee completely clean!! But, it was an amazing experience, and I can't wait to do it again!
