Robert Downey Jr. won't be stopping by my place anytime soon, but I have my own special Iron Man here, and he's pretty cute as well. Little Boo has become a huge fan of the Marvel Avengers movies. He loves Iron Man because of all his cool gadgets, Thor because of his amazing strength, Captain America because of his shield, and so on. He seems to change his favourite character depending on which movie we've most recently watched.
Superheroes and kids are such a natural mix. I was obsessed with Wonder Woman when I was LB's age. We played endless games of superheroes and supervillains in the school yard, exercising both our bodies and our imaginations. It's such a thrill to imagine yourself able to leap tall buildings or fly or crush huge objects. Overcoming the odds and driving evil from the world. Exhilarating :) Little Boo and his friends play the same types of games today. With their imaginations they create awesome story lines and dialogue and picture themselves with incredible powers. It's pretty liberating.
Given the proliferation of superhero costumes and paraphernalia piling up in our house, I was pretty happy to be introduced to the line-up of new Kinder Surprise toys, and to be welcomed back as a #KinderMom once again. You see, Kinder Canada has two new collections - Disney princesses and Marvel heroes. Little Boo was pretty keen to dig in to the Marvel collection to see whom he might find. He did get Thor, I believe, but accidentally left him at a friend's house. (I love that Kinder Eggs are peanut-free, so I can feel safe sending them along to playdates or for Hallowe'en this Thursday at school.)
Aren't these guys adorable? In addition to figurines, there are other princess and heroes themed toys in the line. Two in every three of these Kinder Surprise contain one of these special edition toys, so you've got great odds! I'm hoping to find a Rapunzel for me :) Off to eat some chocolate...
