Chivalrous knights, agile horses, jousting and feasting. This does sound like a fun evening. I've never experienced the Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament before, but have been intrigued by the ads I hear. Hubs went as a chaperone with the Teen way back when he had his grade 6 graduation party there. Both enjoyed the show very much. Me? Well, I'm delighted to announce that I've been selected as a Medieval Times Brand Ambassador through PTPA, and that I'll be taking in a special edition of the new Medieval Times show early next month. I can't wait!
Medieval Times is family-friendly dinner theatre, with entertainment based on an 11th century tournament. While you enjoy a 4 course feast, you get to watch and cheer for 6 knights as they joust and show off their knightly skills. The horses are highly trained in dressage, and there's a falconer as well. The show lasts about 2 hours, and your ticket includes the entertainment, meal and non-alcoholic beverages. There is a full bar if you are so inclined.
I did not realise that when we visit, we will also be able to tour their Hall of Arms, with a display of medieval artifacts and their medieval torture museum. As a former medievalist I am intrigued to see what they have to offer.
Little Boo has recently developed a love of knights that almost required a last minute Hallowe'en costume change, so I think he's going to love seeing these mounted knights in action.
You can learn more about Medieval Times by following them on Twitter or liking them on Facebook. Even better, sign up for their e-newsletter and be sure to stay in the loop.
