Be Your #BestBeautiful with the New Olay Regenerist Luminous Collection {Review}

I grew up with my mom using Oil of Olay. First in glass bottles, then in plastic. I remember it being very pink, and loving the scent. Although it came with the tag line "It can help you look younger too," it was my skin cream of choice in my teens. It was what I knew. And I've continued to trust and use it in its various new formulations over the years (other than a brief flirtation with a department store brand and some time selling Avon).

As a P&G Mom, I've been lucky over the last couple of years to be able to try a number of Olay lines as they've been released. This spring I signed on to do an 8-week trial of the new Olay Regenerist Luminous Collection.

Official synopsis:
The new Olay Regenerist Luminous Collection of skincare products help reveal beautiful, luminous skin and create a more vibrant, youthful appearance. The collection is packed with powerful ingredients and optimized Skin Energizing Technology to energize skin by increasing the surface renewal rate and minimizing the appearance of dark spots, ultimately delivering bright, even skin tone and a smooth, reflective complexion.
Olay Regenerist Luminous works layer by layer on the skin’s surface and deep within to help reveal more beautiful, luminous skin in three ways: by cleaning the skin’s translucent surface “window,” working from within to help banish shadows and optimize light’s reflection and absorption.
Olay Regenerist Luminous provides gentle exfoliation via the cleanser and ingredients such as Niacinamide to re-energize surface skin cell renewal for increased translucency and smoother surface. Rich conditioning ingredients such as Glycerine and N-Acetyl Glucosamine smooth skin’s surface tone and texture through deep hydration. The advanced formulation also increases overall skin hydration to further plump and smooth skin’s texture. Lastly, the products deposit powerful ingredients including OliveM™, Niacinamide and Green Tea at the skin’s surface to help protect from further free radical damage.

My skin is still fairly youthful looking, thanks to excellent genes. But I have started developing fine lines around my eyes, definite dark under-eye circles, and an uneven tone across my cheeks. And my skin was quite dull and blah looking at the start of this process. So I figured, why not give it a go! I trust Olay, so the worst that could happen would be no huge improvement.

But I have seen the improvement. Within even a couple of days I saw brighter, more even skin. And within a couple of weeks my under-eye circles were noticeably lightened. I've had many compliments, and I'm really pleased with the results! My skin looks fresh and much smoother. I'm not sure how to quantify it, but I see it in the mirror. (I've tried to get before and after pictures to share, but I couldn't get the lighting to match up to give you a true contrast.)

The products themselves are light, comfortable and easy to use. The feel of the Tone Perfecting Cream in particular, was silky and not greasy or sticky at all. Very light going on, which I appreciate in a moisturiser.

My greatest challenge was actually remembering to cleanse and moisturise each night as well as each morning. I'm famous for forgetting about my night creams, being so exhausted by the time I turn in. If I actually managed to complete the full regimen I can only imagine how much more pronounced the results would have been.
