Canada's Wonderland - Where to Eat

When you're spending the day swimming and walking and enjoying fun rides and shows and doing lots of screaming and laughing - you really work up an appetite. Amusement parks do tend to have lots of quick options to grab a slice of pizza or a hot dog, or perhaps something sweeter, like a BeaverTail or funnel cake. And these are all good, especially when you don't want to take too much time away from all the action.

But sometimes you want something a little more substantial and a chance to sit down in an air conditioned room to enjoy it. Canada's Wonderland has you covered on all fronts.

On our recent visit, Boo and I made a stop at The Marketplace International Buffet, located in Medieval Faire, and had a wonderful and relaxing meal. The buffet includes a great variety of salads, pasta, pizza, chicken and beef options, a taco bar, mashed potatoes, fries, chicken fingers, and more. There's also a large dessert selection, with pies, puddings, cakes, jello, and an ice cream sundae section. Non-alcoholic beverages (hot and cold) are also included in the buffet price of $21.99 for adults and $16.99 for children and seniors. The location is licensed, so you can purchase that refreshing beer as well.

Aside from healthier options for dining, I really appreciated the chance to sit down in an air-conditioned restaurant, at a real table, and just get some time away from the hustle and bustle of the park. I wish I'd taken more photos to give you more of an idea of the place. There are two large dining areas, with lots of space between tables and large windows to watch the action while you dine. Big bonus for me - they had coconut cream pie! My favourite dessert ever!

Although I haven't been, The Backlot Cafe, located in the Action Zone, also sounds like a good option to get out of the heat and sit down to a variety of lunch options. This is also air-conditioned and offers a licensed bar with flat screen TVs.  Did you know there's even a kosher spot? Howie T's Burger Bar is also in the Action Zone, near the WindSeeker, and offers kosher burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, and more.

We had a great time, as always, at Wonderland, and I've posted some more photos of our day over on the Raising My Boys Facebook page. If you want to learn more about all the dining options available, head over to the Canada's Wonderland Dining page.

Disclosure: I received complimentary access to Canada's Wonderland and a dining voucher to facilitate this post. All opinions on this blog, as always, remain my own.
