Back to Routine with Olay, Cover Girl & Secret #PGMom {Giveaway}

Labour Day came and went, and with it went the lazy, relaxed days of summer. Boo has an enforced bed time again, since he has to go to school in the mornings. Lessons are starting back up (we bowed out of everything during August - best decision ever!) and life is generally getting more scheduled.

Also? I've got the make-up back out on the bathroom counter. Somehow, at some point early each summer, I stop wearing make-up. I don't wear tons at any time, but once I get a little summer colour and my days feel more care-free I just stop wearing it all together. To be honest, even my daily moisturiser suffered from neglect the last few months. Somehow once the weather starts to chill and schedules come back into play, things begin to feel more formal, and I feel the need to once again "get ready" for the outside world.

Over time I've developed a pretty quick skin care and make-up routine to make crazy mornings a little easier. Five minutes, tops, gets my face clean, moisturised and made up. It's all about having your system, sticking to your basics, and having great products. And doing the same routine every day means I can practically do it in my sleep, or while I'm distracted yelling at reminding Boo to go put his pants on.

Three of my favourite brands have some new items on the shelves this fall to help you get your morning beauty routine under control. Check them out!

Put your best face forward

This is the perfect time for mom to reveal her skin’s natural luminosity and radiance with Olay Total Effects Pore Minimizing CC Cream – improving the appearance of pores and uneven skin tone for a flawless, airbrushed finish. Pore Minimizing is an easy sell for me. My skin tends to an uneven tone and my pores can be huge. Now that my tan has faded, I'm finding this product a great fix.

Or, if firmer looking skin is your dream, try COVERGIRL + Olay FaceLift Effect Firming Makeup. This dermatologist-tested formula includes Olay FaceFirm technology for all-day hydration and skin renewal, improving skin’s natural firmness in just two weeks with continued use.

Waking up early to organize the kids can be tiring, and for many, dark under-eye circles and puffiness are a concern. With COVERGIRL + Olay The De-Puffer Eye Concealer you will look well-rested and ready to tackle the day – even if you don't feel that way. Using warmer, brighter shading to counteract dark circles and Olay rejuvenating serum to soothe under eye puffiness, the concealer is applied through a unique cooling metal tip applicator, reducing the look of fatigue around the eyes for a more youthful appearance! The coolness of the metal tip was a little jarring at first, but it does seem to have a calming effect on the skin. This has been great on my sleep-deprived eyes.

Give her a good foundation

Do you have a teen daughter? Or do you experience break-outs yourself? Olay Fresh Effects {Acne Control Scrub!} Salicylic Acid Acne and Blackhead Clearing Scrub is designed to provide unstoppable freshness that lasts all day. Also, for those early school mornings, Fresh Effects {Dew Over!} Hydrating Gel Moisturizer will awake and energize skin with its feather-light gel, packed with an instant boost of cooling hydration and COVERGIRL Ready, Set Gorgeous Concealer will help cover those imperfections and dark circles that we all hate. As a final part of your teen’s morning routine, COVERGIRL Ready, Set Gorgeous Liquid Foundation will even her skin tone while pulling oil and sweat away from the skin instead of trapping it under the foundation. Though I'm no teen anymore, I do have combination skin, so this will be a good option for dealing with my T-Zone problems.

Don’t sweat the small stuff

Does the back-to-school hustle and bustle have you sweating more than ever with drop offs, after school activities and everything in between? Never fret, because Secret has introduced two new additions to the Secret Clinical Strength collection – Invisible Solid and Clear Gel – to keep you cool and collected during even the busiest of times.
