How's your sweet tooth? I tend to go more for the savoury treats myself, but a special little pastry with my afternoon cup of tea is always a treat. And who doesn't love to receive a bakery box full of decadent squares and tarts as a hostess gift!
Well, there's a new shop in town to cater to all your bakery needs, both the sweet and savoury. It's ShopBake.com, Canada's first and only online marketplace for bakeries.
ShopBake.com launches today, September 17, with 50 bakeries, and more to come. Whether you are searching for a local bakery and plan to pick up your order, or want to have some yummy treats delivered to your door, visit the site to see what's on offer. You can search by shop location, type of baked good (cupcake, cookies, bread, macarons, etc.), or event (birthday, Passover, Hallowe'en, ...). There's also an option to find bakeries catering to different dietary needs - gluten-free, egg free, Kosher, and more. What a great way to narrow your search for refreshments the next time you're entertaining guests.
We tried a number of delicious cookies and macarons for ShopBake bakeries. The mason jar in the picture is from Short & Sweet Cupcakes and contains two cupcakes worth of layered goodness. These would be great for gift giving. The box from Petal Dust Bakeshop contained an insanely good chocolate cake truffle and a cookie sandwich filled with creamy vanilla frosting. The cookie sandwich was delicious, but a bit sweet for me, and I couldn't finish it.
So how does this all work? Sellers create an online account to promote their goods, and buyers can create personalized accounts for their shopping adventures. Simply click, order and enjoy!
Keep in touch with Shop Bake on Twitter or Facebook and keep watching for more additions to ShopBake.com in the coming weeks.
