Tea & Tiaras: Where High Tea Meets High Fashion
There's something truly special about a proper tea service. I love drinking my tea from a china cup and nibbling on dainty pastries and cucumber sandwiches. Add in some lovely conversation, entertainment and a fashion show, and you've got the recipe for an excellent afternoon!
The Starlight Children's Foundation is holding a new fundraising event this fall. Tea & Tiaras will combine a sophisticated afternoon tea with a live fashion show, live entertainment, silent and live auctions, and more. There will be a Beauty Corner, where you can purchase discounted beauty items with proceeds going to Starlight. And of course, you will be able to purchase a collectible Starlight Bear on site for just $20.
The Foundation has set a goal for this event of raising $50,000 to assist them with their hospital programs for seriously ill children. These programs include many options to provide comfort and entertainment to the kids during their hospital visits and stays - tablets, video games, books, puzzles, craft kits, and more. These items go a long way to easing a long wait for tests or to fill the time a sick child must spend in their hospital bed.
The Tea & Tiaras event will be hosted by the lovely Jennifer Valentyne, Live Eye Host on CityTV's Breakfast Television. If you live in the GTA, I am sure you've seen the show, and you'll be familiar with Jenn's enthusiasm and love for the community. She is sure to make it an outstanding event.
Tea & Tiaras will take place on Sunday, November 2, 2014, from 1:00-4:00pm, at the Royal York Hotel ‘Ballroom’ in Toronto. Tickets are available for $80 each, or $600 per table (8 guests). Attendees must be 19 years of age or older. Get all the details and purchase tickets online at TeaAndTiaras.ca. Of course, if you are unable to make it to the event, You can still consider making a donation to support the Starlight Foundation in their work with seriously ill children. Donations are accepted via their website, StarlightCanada.org
