HGG2014 - Little Live Pets Bird Cage {review and giveaway}

This little cutie flew his way into my home and has been singing me lovely melodies ever since. Little Live Pets bring interactive and entertaining, mess-free pets into your life. No feeding, no litter to clean, just some love and attention to give. These sweet birds would make a great gift for the little girl in your life, whether or not she currently has a real pet of her own. (They have a line of butterflies as well!)
Your birdie friend loves to tweet and sing, and will even tweet back one of your own recorded phrases. It comes loaded with a variety of nursery rhyme tunes and chirps, and will sing for you when you press the button on its chest. It also loves to be petted. Stroke and pet on its back to make your Little Live Pet happy. The happier she is, the more she'll tweet.  The plastic body is covered in a soft texture, kind of a fuzzy suede feeling, so petting this bird isn't like petting a regular plastic toy.

To record your own phrase, hold down the button on the bird's chest. Release when done. Super easy.
We received the Bird Cage to review, and really like how the cage makes it feel even more like a real pet. It reminded me of the budgie I had when I was little. The cage has a food and water tray, a door that opens so you can take birdie out, a carry handle, and a perch. The perch can accommodate two birds, so you can add a friend for your pet.

If you've been playing with your Little Live Pet and then wander off, she may tweet periodically to attempt to regain your attention, but she will go to sleep after 30 minutes. Bonus feature for parents - the bird has an off switch so you won't accidentally waken it when you least expect it and get a scare.

The single birds retail for about $14.99, and the Bird Cage is priced at $24.99. These toys are recommended for ages 5 and up. Note: batteries are not included.
