Fisher Price, Barbie, Thomas, Hot Wheels, Monster High - the list goes on! Mattel has options for every child on your list, and they've made your holiday shopping a little easier this year by highlighting 28 sure kid-pleasers on a special micro site - MattelHoliday.ca. It's a great spot to get some quick, hot ideas, all collected in one place. (Kind of like my own Holiday Gift Guide, right?)
Within the list, Mattel has identified a special Top Ten gift ideas, covering the range of ages. You basically can't go wrong with these!
We received the Fisher-Price® Thomas & Friends TrackMaster Avalanche Escape Set to review, and when Hubs saw it he got so excited. Apparently he's seen a commercial for it and was totally stoked to see it in action. (He's always been a big fan of trains and model railroads.) This set is based on the "Tale of the Brave" DVD and it sends Thomas on a dangerous mountain-top adventure where he must soar across a gap in the track and cross a rickety bridge, travel through a dark, scary tunnel, and more. It includes a motorised Thomas engine and an auto-reset function for continuous play. The set stands about a foot tall and 5 feet long, so it does require a fair bit of space. It's recommended for ages 3-6 and retails for approximately $69.99, but it's on sale currently at Amazon.ca for just under $50.
The Monster High® Freaky Fusion™ Hybrid Dolls are another on the Top Ten list. Monster High seems to be very big with the elementary and tween girl set. These monsters are hybrids, combining aspects of two different creatures each. The articulation allows these dolls to stand on their own, which is cool. I have the Bonita Femur (middle), who is part Skeleton and part Moth. She'll be gifted to my cousin's little girl. Recommended for ages 6 and up, ARP $34.99.
How could Mattel forget Barbie? She has a couple of entries on the Top Ten list, including the 2014 Holiday Barbie (gorgeous!) and her Glam Camper.
|2014 Holiday Barbie is recommended for ages 6 and up and retails for around $49.99. I love this glamourous dress. Do you think it comes in my size?|
For the Barbie loving young girl, or the collector, this would be a cherished gift.
I was really happy to see one of my faves, the Fisher-Price® Laugh & Learn® Smart Stages Chair, also made the Top Ten list.
There is just so much to explore in this chair, with three levels of play geared to baby's developmental stage, over 50 sing-along songs, tunes and phrases, and lots of buttons and things to lift and turn and manipulate. Plus, it's just such a cute chair! Ages 12 months and up, ARP $54.99.
|Don't I look good in the grown-up version?|
