For the third year in a row now, Boo has requested a Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar. They are a bit pricey, but you get 25 Lego figures and small toys, plus 25 days of his pure joy and building fun. So we figure as long as we can swing it, it's worth it. Every morning when he gets out of bed he runs to the calendar, confirms the date with me, and starts his search. Each toy must be built before breakfast. (Side note - this does not play well with school mornings. Timing may need to be revisited.)
Once he's done building, Boo is very anxious that we see the new addition, and he generally has some helpful commentary, or a long explanation of what the toy is. He knows more about the technical details of the various Star Wars ships and weapons and droids than I ever will. Thank you YouTube and a genetic predisposition to geekiness. He can't help it really.
The other day he put this guy together (loving the Santa hat!):
See the look on this guy's face? He's clearly unimpressed with something. Boo starts laughing and says, "Check this guy out! It looks like he ordered a cappuccino and they only gave him an espresso! Ha!"
Seriously? How does he know these things? He's only 8. Do you think I drink too much coffee???
