Do you remember the Free Hugs movement? I remember being at work one day, enjoying the sunny weather on my lunch break, and coming upon a group of students with signs offering free hugs. Totally made my day! I got lots of hugs and re-filled my happy meter for the day. Well, guess what? There's actually a National Hugging Day! I have no idea how I missed this, but this day has been observed annually since 1986. It was started in the US by Kevin Zaborney and is now celebrated in countries all over the world. The event takes place on January 21 and encourages you to spread the joy by spreading the hugs. I am so in!
The website does offer some advice on appropriate hugging:
Reasonable care should be taken with those who are either uncomfortable with public affection or their reaction to a hug is unknown. In those situations, it is advised to ask first before hugging. Not everyone is as comfortable as I am with others coming into their personal space, so know who you hug!
Since I'm on vacation, I'll definitely be hugging Hubs and Boo. Important to note - I will be at Disneyland on the 21st, so perhaps I'll actually be able to hug Olaf himself!! Fingers crossed.
A couple of other things that make me happy are great chocolate and winning fun prizes. Kinder Canada has us covered for both. During the week of January 26-30, the KINDER® Canada Facebook page will be celebrating Games & Puzzle Week with daily prizing. I don't have all the details yet, but will be sure to share on my own Facebook page once I do. Be sure to follow my page to stay in the loop!
Of course, a new year means new Kinder Surprise toys, and 2015 will see more than 100 new toys introduced in our favourite little eggs. Boo is pretty stoked for the motorcycles and cars, while I like the puzzle ball and parachute guys. The pink eggs will have over 50 new toys, including rings and other fashion accessories. Be sure to watch for the 2015 packaging in stores and start your new year collection.
