I am being compensated for helping spread the word about the launch of Nutrience Subzero in PetSmart Canada but Raising My Boys only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. Last month I told you about the launch of a new, Made in Canada, grain-free pet food, Nutrience SubZero, and their in-store events on November 28 in PetSmart® stores across the country. Did you attend? I wasn't able to get to my PetSmart during the event, but I was there later that evening, and was excited to see a close-to-empty display of the Nutrience SubZero cat food. The dog food was getting low as well.

The bottom shelves on this unit were bare, so I think this food was a hit. PetSmart carries such an excellent variety of high quality pet foods, it can be hard to decide which to buy. And when a new food hits the shelves, it can get even more confusing. Having someone visit in-store to answer customer questions is a great idea to raise awareness and ensure pet parents have the information they need to make an informed purchase decision.

What makes Nutrience SubZero such a great option? The fact that it's Canadian-made, with Canadian-sourced wild-caught fish, meat and poultry certainly appeals to me. I prefer to support local, and I trust our Canadian agricultural regulations. Plus, meat and fish components are top of the ingredients lists, and there are no fillers. This is solid nutrition.

Aside from that, SubZero is a premium combination of grain-free kibble and freeze-dried raw protein.  That protein, termed Nutriboost, is fresh protein, infused with a unique blend of nutritionally beneficial ingredients, and gently freeze-dried to lock in the natural goodness of raw foods. Nutriboost freeze-dried inclusion contains:
  • Green-Lipped Mussels - A natural anti-inflammatory to support joint health
  • Pacific Cod Liver - A rich source of omega-3 fatty acids for a healthy skin & coat
  • Pumpkin - A good source of dietary fiber to support digestion
  • Acadian Kelp - A variety of seaweed loaded with natural antioxidants to support a healthy immune system
Joint health, immune support, digestive and skin health - this food looks after your pet's health inside and out. Again, as pet parent to a senior cat, I need to point out that you should consult with your vet about the right diet for your pet's particular situation. SubZero is an excellent option for my 6 year-old dog, but for my 16 year-old cat with delicate kidneys, it is too high in protein. Know your pet and their specific needs.
