There's a new movie on the way from the makers of "Frozen" and "Wreck It Ralph." Disney's "Zootopia" hits the big screen on March 4, 2016, in 3D, and it looks like it will be a ton of fun. This is Disney's 55th animated feature, and it has some heavy hitters voicing the characters, with Jason Bateman and Ginnifer Goodwin in the starring roles. Other big names - Idris Elba, Octavia Spencer, Tommy Chong, Peter Mansbridge, and Shakira.
Here's the plot synopsis:
The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when rookie Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery.
I've been enjoying the trailers and am interested to see how the writers and animators have adapted the animal characters into human roles. I think the underdog, proving yourself theme will be a good one as well. Boy's club, or burly animal's club, little Judy Hopps sounds like she has an uphill battle towards acceptance by the rest of the force.
Here's a taste of what she has to look forward to -
What do you think? Will you be heading out to see this one?
