His mattress sucks.
Want some serendipity? Just about the time I'm starting my mattress research I get an email asking if I'd like to review a new, memory foam mattress available online. Would I?! It's like they were reading my mind. (Side note - Boo's word of the week is "Serendipitous." He came across it somewhere and asked what it meant. Now uses it whenever he can. So cute!)
Leesa.ca is an online-only source for memory foam mattresses. They have six sizes, from Twin to California King, and all mattresses are made-to-order in the USA. What makes these mattresses special? Three layers of foam, each serving a different purpose - 6 inches of dense core support, 2 inches of memory foam for pressure relief and body contouring, and a 2 inch top layer of cooling Avena foam for air circulation. The whole thing is covered in a soft, seamless, polyester-lycra blend.
The Leesa website is very clean and easy to navigate, and the ordering process was very simple. (For the record - they take Paypal! You know I love that payment option.) Even better? They require only 3-5 business days to build, compress, box, and ship your mattress. Mine arrived at my door just 7 days after I placed the order.
|I have to admit, it was a little hard to believe this burrito was going to transform into a comfortable and high quality mattress.|
|And I've never had a mattress that came with instructions like this!|
This mattress is truly very comfortable. I like how the memory foam almost embraces my body and forms the perfect little nest. But I don't sink into the mattress; there's still enough firmness to support me and protect my back. I have slept in there with Boo on a number of occasions, and I have not had any hip pain with this mattress, which is a huge positive as compared to his old mattress. My lower back still gets a little stiff, but I think that's more about sharing a twin bed with a 10 year-old and a fair-sized dog. Again, the pain is nothing like I had been experiencing. This mattress gives excellent, comfortable, firm support.
I asked Boo for his review, and he gave a typically brief response. He likes it. It's comfortable. He feels he is sleeping more soundly.

One thing I will note - be careful of sitting or lying right on the edge of the Leesa mattress. These don't have stiff, structured sides like a traditional mattress, and you may feel yourself slipping to the floor. The edge of the mattress will compress under your weight and make a little slide. This is really not an issue for sleeping, just something to keep in mind as you perch on the edge of the bed to kiss your kid good-night.
A few quick notes about other positives - shipping is free, every mattress comes with a 100 night in-home risk-free trial period, and Leesa donates one mattress for every 10 mattresses sold. Giving back is important to this company, and that means a lot to me when I'm making a purchasing decision.
A DealAt time of writing this post, Leesa.ca is offering a special $100 discount off your mattress purchase with the code SPRING100, so it's a great time to buy.
