Now that that's out of the way, let's get on with this, because I want to help you save some money :)
Yesterday we admitted to ourselves that we cannot fix Boo's broken laptop, and we went online to seek out the back to school deals and see what we could find for him to replace it. My husband liked the sales & features he found at Dell.ca, and I reminded him to start at Ebates.
What is Ebates? Quite simply, it's an online shopping portal that receives a commission from a variety of online store partners, and then shares that commission with its members. Joining Ebates is free - you just need an email address. Each time you go to shop online, just login in to your Ebates account, search for the retailer you want, and enter their site via the "Shop Now" button. And with over 650 retailers available, I will bet you can find what you're looking for!
How much can you earn? It varies according to the agreement with each specific store, but 2%-10% seems to be the common range. In our case, with Dell, we earned 10% of our purchase price. So, we got a great deal in the Dell sale, plus an extra 10% in cashback.
How do you get your cashback? Ebates pays out quarterly. You can choose to receive your money via cheque, Paypal, an electronic Amazon giftcard, or even to donate it to charity or send to a friend.
So basically, you are getting paid to do the shopping you would be doing anyway. If you shop online, this one's a no-brainer.
And since it's Back to School season, Ebates.ca has a ton of great deals and Double Cash Back offers from the retailers you need to get the kids set up for fall.
A few of my favourite Double Cash Back offers include:
Staples.ca - now up to 6%
Amazon.ca - now up to 4%
Indigo.ca - now up to 5%
Old Navy - now 4%
Carters/Osh Kosh - now 3%
Joe Fresh - now 4%
Well.ca - now 2%
and of course -
Dell.ca - now at 10%, up from just 2% on a normal day!
When you combine these improved cash back offers with the back to school deals the retailers are offering on their sites, you can save a bundle. You can't lose!
