This time of year can be difficult for many people. The cold, the short days, the lack of sun, the lifeless trees and plants. January and February can be dreary, and I've always found them hard. There's even a thing called "Blue Monday," which is the name that has been given to the third Monday in January. I gather some sort of calculation of "time past the holidays + credit card bills coming in + resolutions broken" went into coming up with that date. And of course it makes sense that the saddest day of the year would fall on a Monday. Of course!
Technically, last Monday was the third one of the month, but I think we've got a fair bit of time for winter blues still to come.
