#HGG2017: VTech GearZooz Roll & Roar Animal Train {review}

VTech has a great reputation for developing toys that are both educational and a ton of fun. For the pre-schoolers on your lists, they have some wonderful new options this year, and I'll be bringing you highlights on a few over the next few days.
First off, the VTech GearZooz Roll & Roar Animal Train. Bright and colourful, and solidly constructed, this train is a great size for little hands to push or pull. The set comes with 15 interchangeable gears, so your child can customise the train to make it their own, and develop their fine motor and problem solving skills as they do. In addition, 4 adorable animals can board the train for a ride. Each of these animals is sitting on a "smart gear" that adds animal information and sounds.

The Roll & Roar Animal Train comes with over 150 songs, melodies, sounds, and phrases, and introduces information on animals, musical instruments, and places. Children can move the slider to learn about the beach, the park, the mountains, and the zoo. Instruments include a piano, horn, and flute. One mode invites children to participate in playing a song, another asks questions that your child can answer by pressing the buttons or moving the slider. Here's a little sample -

This is a fun toy that offers learning about animals, music, cause and effect, and helps develop fin motor skills. Parents will appreciate the volume control for quieter play, and the automatic shut-off to save battery life. The set comes with 2 AA batteries installed, but these are mostly for demo purposes, so you'll want to have fresh replacements on hand. Oh! If you have other sets in the GearZooz series, the Smart Gear animals will work with them all.
